The Department of Transport and Logistics began operations in 1998. It was created as a didactic and scientific unit of Naval Navigation Department of Gdynia Maritime Academy.
Since the academic year 2009/10, it offers specializations: TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS (TiL - full-time and part-time engineering studies) and MARITIME TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS (MSTiL - full-time and part-time).
Working with many institutions, the Department conducts didactic and research activities in the field of transport systems and logistics and international transport policy.
The particular area of interest for NTNs is the issues related to the functioning of maritime transport and logistics systems, including the construction, operation, management and development of port systems in their various spatial, technical, economic, legal, administrative and social relationships with the national and international environment. .
In the didactic and research process, the Department of Transport and Logistics cooperates, among others. Gdansk University of Technology and Szczecin University, Maritime University in Szczecin, Warsaw School of Economics, Gdańsk Institute for Market Economics, Gdańsk Maritime Institute Institute of Fluid Machinery, Maritime Offices in Gdynia, Słupsk and Szczecin, Ports Authority in Gdańsk, Gdynia, Szczecin and Świnoujście, Gdynia City Hall and the Association of Towns and Communes.
